Filtration
Although longwall equipment is subject to harsh operating conditions it is expected to live long.
Control and valve components will be the more durable and efficient the fewer contaminations are present in the hydraulic system.
An important aspect in this connection is filtration. Our filter systems are adapted to suit the individual application and are thus able to protect expensive equipment despite hostile environments by keeping the hydraulic systems clean.

Backflush filters
Backflush filters are installed direct into the pressure line and are used for constant full-flow filtration behind the pump.

Backflush filter stations
Abrasion, scales, and dust inevitably lead to contaminations in hydraulic systems. In order to prevent that these foreign particles cause damage to valves and seals a thorough filtration is indispensable. The backflush filter station has proved to be the most effective means in this respect. Tiefenbach Control Systems offers it with manual and automatic control. The backflush filter station of Tiefenbach Control Systems is available in different types: for high-pressure lines and for fresh water supply lines. What the two types have in common is that they are equipped with two filter elements. When backflushing one of the filter elements the other element continues to be in operation. This allows a constant flow of operating medium. In the event that a filter cannot be cleaned any more by backflushing the filter element is very easy to replace. In case of an electrical activation via a control unit human intervention is hardly necessary any more. The control unit will be parameterized to the desired target value and triggers the backflushing operations automatically.

In-line filters
In-line filters are an uncomplicated addition to filter systems for pumps and hydraulic tanks and are of special benefit when hydraulic systems are particularly branched and complex.

Return line filters
Return line filters provide an additional filtration stage for the hydraulic fluid. They are typically integrated in the return line between the end of the longwall face and the tank unit. They comprise two individual filter elements and a manual valve. This arrangement allows to utilize the individual filter elements separately. It offers the advantage of not having to interrupt the hydraulic circuit when replacing a contaminated element. If, e.g. the first element needs replacing the return flow can be routed through the second element without any losses.
