Shield control systems

Discover our extensive range of cutting-edge technology! From hydraulic pilot controls to neighboring controls and complex electrohydraulic systems with wireless remote control – we provide everything from a single source. Thanks to modular construction, both new installations can be equipped, and existing hydraulic systems can be expanded or converted into electrohydraulic control systems.

Face supply systems

The optimum supply of the extraction systems is extremely important for a perfect functioning of longwall installations. Our face supply system provides high-quality pressure fluid to the mining system. The supply with other media such as, for example, for the shearer cooling, the plow track spraying or the canopy spraying systems is also possible. We offer you the possibility of choosing between either individual pump control components or a perfectly matched complete face supply system.

Shield recovery/Walker control system

For a longwall move or shield overhaul, the shields must be set to the transport position. The shields are fully retracted to remove them compactly from the longwall The remote control system was developed for safe remote operation from distance. The battery-operated remote control is available for you. The battery-operated remote control control can of course also be used to set up a longwall face.

Conveyor Start/Stop Box

Tiefenbach has developed its own conveyor Start Stop Box to bring the start/emergency stop chain in series with the dismounting control unit. This ensures greater safety and shorter downtimes.

Radio remote control

The radio remote is a battery-powered hand-held unit which allows to select the pre-programmed functions of a shield. It consists of a rugged plastic housing with a 12-key membrane keyboard. The radio remote sends its data to the receiver of the radio remote control. From there, the signals are passed on to the shield control unit. The battery has a capacity for approx. 10 operating hours. Afterwards, the radio remote can be easily recharged at the surface using the charging shell.
