The unique feature of the Longwall Control Center is its ability to graphically display the entire longwall layout through four graphic modules, providing a complete depiction of the longwall where all potential faults can be visualized.

The system's high complexity allows for control from the surface as well as fully autonomous underground operation, maintaining the user-friendly graphical interface. This facilitates direct adjustments of parameters and configurations on-site. The intrinsically safe Longwall Control Center (iLCC) collects data from the longwall, analyzes it, and transmits the results to a surface visualization computer, monitoring both sensor values and operating conditions.

Furthermore, the Longwall Control Center receives control commands and data from a visualization computer via modem, TTY interface, or fiber optic from the surface and forwards them to the control units in the longwall. The iLCC provides various interfaces for communication with external systems. The iLCC can be flexibly deployed in one or both longwall or roadway transitions.
